I met a couple at a bar which worked out great, In regards to the question I believe the best place is at a coffee shop, bar or somewhere in the public is the best places to meet.

I say Coffee Shop. cause if things don't click. still ok cause it won't take too long. and both can go on their way after that. short and simple. But I have to say that I have met several members from this site at my my place. that is because I have talk to them some much over the blogs and talk to them over the phone that I felt comfortable to do so. but I always let my roommate know when someone is going to visit, that way he knows just in case. and sometimes he is here in his room just to make sure. but so far every meeting has been very pleasant.

I prefer meeting people in public for the first time. There's a great local bar that's near me and perfect for meeting people. I also like coffee shops and of course, Starbucks. While I have done it twice, I just don't think it's a good idea for a female to meet a man she's never met for the first time in a hotel room. But that's me.
