In Case of Emergency - Public Service Announcement
In Case of Emergency - Public Service Announcement I was just being BADD and bopping around blogville. In my travels, I came across an important post from RoyalPurpleRose entitled [post 168381]. It reminded me something which came out of the "unpleasantness" in England. It seems that during the emergency some of the rescue workers who had to deal with unconsious victims used their cell phones to contact family members and the victims doctors by looking them up in the stored address books. They suggested that people put into their cell address books either a single entry labled "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) or mutliple entries beginning with ICE. This way rescue workers will know who to contact for medical information such as allergies. I put multiple ICE entries into my phone. For all the doctors, I put their titles like DDS for dentist and IM (Internal Medicine) for my regular doctor. I think it's a good idea. Be save. SR |
