Beneficial Time Spent. A Poem

How can I act
As if I have no cares.
That my thoughts
Are not veering towards
A friend's devastating news
And sadness?

I feel a twinge of guilt
That I could trudge on
But I know myself
And I know I can't
Completely block.it out.

So for the time being
I will spend time
Being a friend
Until I am no
Longer needed.

As much as I need fun
I think the laughs
I share with a friend
Who is suffering
Will be much
More beneficial
For my soul
In the long run..

 Yup
As would be putting the trainers on
and chugging an extra mile on the runway
( with music thundering blocking your panting)

And on a side note, you'll always be needed
- to perform the rituals

 Great words hun and sometimes that's all we can do is just be there for our friends that need us..

 The laughs and jokes you share with your friend must be priceless to them.Being there when you are needed speaks volumes about you and am sure is appreciated. A lovely poem.
