Run In The Other Direction A Poem

You are a funny .
You like me when
I am positive.
When I am sad
Or get down.
You could care less.
In fact you run
In other direction.

I see what you are
You are a fair weather friend.
You are a dime a dozen.
You think it should
Be all sunshine.
But I have news
That is a fiction
Or all in your mind.

I would ask you
Your reasoning.
For being so cavalier.
But you probably
Would reveal
The things I fear.
You are a feckless
Shallow creature.

I understand
Depth can be hard
To fathom
It might hurt to breathe
As feeling might be oppressive.
Now I know how you are
I can prepare myself.
When you do the inevitable.
Run in the other direction
When I am less than positive.
