Cassandra Or Negative Nelly A Poem

I can see it in my mind
I can see their reconciliation.
I am the most negative Nelly
But perhaps the reality is
My name should be Cassandra
If it is the future that I see.

I won't mention it to him.
I won't give him any ideas.
I will hold these thoughts
Tight to my chest.
My heart hiding them
Like a student's note
That a teacher won't spy
And steal as inappropriate.

If only I had not the track record
If only it had not come to pass
Again and again that
A love interest went back to their ex
But alas
There is much precedent.
So I live with this fear
As ever present.

 Time for a change
Time you look at the man he was.
Time to open up your eyes
To see he was not the for thee.
Time to make a list of the good and bad
Time to see what you had.
Time to learn to find what you have not
Time to change the men you pick
Time is on your side
Time to stop wasting time.

Have a wonderful day the sun is up the ski is blue it's beautiful and do are you dear Cassandra won't you open up your eyes.

Thank you so much for your comments. It is very thoughtful. I appreciate your advice and encouragement. Even with a list of the good and bad I always seem to understand where the bad came from and make allowances. LOL
