You Were Playing A Game A Poem

While you were playing a game.
Flirting with many a woman
Telling her a story
Probably untrue
Especially your name
I learnt the lesson
That it was hard to fathom
That someone could
Be so cavalier
With another's emotions.

You have that down
Practically to a science.
You build someone up
Just enough to make them
Feel special.
Then have a story
Of why you are too busy
To do more than
Just fuck and leave.

Once upon a time
I thought you had integrity.
Once upon a time
I thought you had
Something to give.
Yes give when your life
Was less hectic.
But that was proven
To be the opposite.
You had that story ready
And then you slipped
One
And you said something
That you thought you
Had never said.
Too late.
The excuse was so fake.
Such an insult
To my intelligence.

It's okay.
I have come to see.
You are playing games
And I am not willing
To participate.
So off you go
To your next sucker.
I wonder if she will
Figure you sooner.
