 It's quite a commitment to take care of the pierced nipples during the lengthy healing time. Also, there is a difference between healing of the wound and when the fistula is fully set. That is why some sources say ten weeks and others say a year or more.

It's not too big of a deal for a man not have his nipples fondled or licked during the first six months or so. As a woman, can you get your partner(s) to heed the no-touch rule until your piercings are fully healed?

No, not personally. My flatmate in grad school had just done hers in the fall and I got to hear all the details of her progress blow by blow throughout the academic year.
Not to mention she spent precious time in the bathroom every moring and evening doing saline rinses, etc.
