The lost generation
The Doom Generation, which could also be called the movie about Generation 666 or the hell generation who won’t find the paradise even after death, shows the most intimate moments of three teenagers, three representatives of the modern Generation X. Three “losers” love the road, sexuality, alcohol and parties, but a sinister turn of events changes them into natural born killers, as in the movie made by Oliver Stone. The threesome become dangerous delinquents who are unaware of their actions. And director Gregg Araki, master of movies about the lost generation, exaggerates, of course. He mocks them, makes fun of them and oversteps the boundary of good taste. That is why the movie also contains extreme scenes of the so-called “zombie genre” where heads that have been chopped off can still talk for five hours after the body dies. However, this isn’t a horror movie, but it just exaggerates in that way and thus clearly shows how destroyed are the brains of the young generation.
A highly attractive and perverse young man
Naturally, the director wants to show that Generation X is truly in hell, where there is no escape or the possibility of a better tomorrow. The movie tells a story of two teenagers who are in love (James Duval and Rose McGovan). They are joined by a very wild, perverse, hot and sweating Xavier Red (Johnathon Schaech). He is a young man who lures them into hell, back to Earth and hell again. No wonder that the teenage guy licks his own sperm and wants to feel the finger of Rose McGovan in his anus. The guy just doesn’t have any taboos and good taste. He is the personification of wet dreams, hell and blood. He is the new Saviour who has, of course, been sent by Devil and not God. And Rose McGovan opens her flower to him. Several times in a row. She knows that her boyfriend, James Duval, will be proud of her. This is Generation X, the generation that Gregg Araki loves, and the generation that only Larry Clark managed to get a closer look at in his movie . The Doom Generation is a courageous movie filled with daring erotic scenes and tells a story that isn’t suitable for gentle souls.
