Should the boom die?

I am a very hard working and even harder driven man. The boom has been very good to me and my family and I'm glad it started when it did.
But after several years of fighting through it I'm left wondering if it's worth it...
I now have a very heavy wallet and an even heavier heart. I come home later, I'm tired all the time and stress is always getting the best of me lately. Bills are going up and time is flying by. Quality of life seems to be going down as my are rapidly growing up.
Global statistics show that poorer cultures are typically the happiest. They have a richer sense of self, family and pride.
We're richer, is everyone happier?????
I don't hate my life but find myself wondering if trying to be the best every single day is worth it.
Is it worth it to you?
The more we make the more we want. The more we want the more we have to work for it. I think we're pushing ourselves too hard.
We are on the verge of creating a two class society. Those that have and those that don't. I think it will eventually lead to chaos. Look around Edmonton and Calgary and take notice of the hundreds of condo complexes being built. They will soon be full of poor ghetto trash when this all collapses. At least that is what I fear. The thought of all the poor 's lives that will be destroyed as their families are torn by the rise and fall of the economy sickens me as well.
The 80's were bad. This could be worse.... a lot worse. Anyone who thinks the government is working around the clock to insure this doesn't happen again is a fool. You're the type of person who has already bought in to a mortgage you will never be able to pay. You probably live a life that you could only sustain if this economy continued to grow for next 50 years without any hardships.
I know all of this sounds grim and negative but it's just a thought. I have been able to enjoy many things in my life as a result of the recent economic boom. I just know that I'm not going to be dependent on it, and I will be ready when it all falls apart......

What are fantasies? Aren't they thoughts in our mind of things or events we wish we could do or have?
Being on this site has allowed us to explore ourselves in a whole different way and it has left us with many new questions as well. We've looked in to things we've dreamt about but never tried, tried some things we've never dreamt about and had a lot of fun.
Sure, where is this going right? We just wonder, is it really fantasy if you seek it out? Really, once you chat, make arrangements and go through with it, it's now a reality. Is it worth it? You now have one less thing to dream of and have one more memory. It may have been fun but did it live up to your expectations? Has it left you wanting more of the same or have your fantasies begun to evolve in to more complicated and demanding scenarios?
Maybe it has brought you closer to someone and opened a whole new door in your heart for that person. Sharing your desires can be like sharing your soul.
Where do you fall in all of this?
How do you feel about acting on your desires or just leaving your fantasies be?

We have both always been proud of our country's vets, and of those from other nations as well.
A lot has been said lately of the heroics the Canadians displayed on Vimy ridge some 90 years ago, and we hope you all take a minute this week to pay tribute to all those who fought and fell during that and all the other great battles.
We'd also like to plead to everyone to do your best to educate your about these great men and what they were fighting for. Our nephew (14 yrs old) recently said: "who cares, that happened like, a billion years ago." I could have cried at that moment but instead, took the time to let him know how different his life would surely be if it weren't for all of those brave men "billions of years ago."
Give thanks for the sacrifices that have been made to preserve the life you know and please make sure your pass this along. Don't let the memories of these men fade away.

It's been here for a while and people have welcomed it with open arms despite the fact that it has enslaved half the population including our .
Yes, I mean the internet. Okay so the first bit was a little "over-dramatic" but, think about all the time you spend on the internet each day.... Then think about the freaks that spend ten times as much time on it as you do. I know many people who have severed friendships/relationships because they conflicted with their time online. I know many who were once very socially active people but they choose to stay home on a friday "cause' their buddies are online." What is wrong with this picture???
I have friends that want to go to the bar or to a party every weekend to see the ladies. They do nothing once we get there and cry later that nothing happened for them. I am married, so obviously careless in my actions lol, so I do whatever I can to hook them up and they always blow it. ALL of these guys are avid internet daters. Sad....
It's bad enough that a stupid is not wrong in class or that a bad cannot be disciplined anymore. It's even worse that we are creating a society of people that can't be bothered to leave their houses now to make simple conversation face to face with members of the opposite sex. If I were a woman, I wouldn't care to be with a man who is afraid to approach me without first knowing me. What kind of coward is that to have for a husband? And what would his be like? (I shudder at the thought) And if you don't have the time to get out and meet, you don't have the time for a relationship in the first place.
I'm not criticising this site and what it can do for you. I just think that people need to learn to know when to draw the line. Let's get the back playing out in the streets, get to know your neighbour and for christs' sake, if you like someone that you meet in person, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! Stop waiting for that amazing profile to pop in front of your face on lava life, it doesn't exist........

I love my wife
Did I mention her eyes... She has such beautiful eyes.
They are what caught my attention the night we met.
They have looked at me in pain and in anger but, they are always soft and reassuring.
They are sexy and even my friends tell me so...
They bring me so much joy and I can't help but feel like a fool when I get caught gazing into them every day.
I just wish this life were a little longer for me to explore their endless depths.
But there is so much more to her.
I just keep getting lost in her eyes.......
