I vote for sheer stupidity. Not to mention if things were any slower they would be in reverse. Think how long it takes to get a message to someone, or try chatting...

If you close the window the system will keep you logged in for a while even though you are not online viewing. To log off completley from the site use the log off button at the bottom of the page.

better to click on the Log Off button when you leave. I found out that if you closed the window by accident, when you open the site after a few seconds, you don't have to log on as you are still online. hope this helps.
