Premium members to get instant post approvals
Premium members to get instant post approvals Wanted to get your thoughts on allowing gold and silver members instant approval on their new blog posts and comments on other members posts. We are going live with it now as a beta to see if premium members abuse it. The posts will go through an approval process but after it goes live. The goal is help promote more instant communication on the site. Here's crossing fingers! Note: the posts will show up instantly on your blog but not show up in the "recent posts" on main blog page for a few minutes. For this beta, if you edit your post, it will go through the review process as before. Hey, it's a beta And yah, it's live for groups too! Feedback appreciated... do you think standard members should get this too?

Yes, I think standard members should get it as well. Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.

do you think standard members should get this too? I would give this a qualified yes. I believe that tying instant approval privileges to to the age of the blog and number of posts is a better standard. Is the system set in such a way that that information is quickly accessible? Regardless of paid or free membership to the site, people who have a longer, more active history have a greater sense of community which is positively correlated with posting content that is beneficial to the community as opposed to spam or other potentially problematic posts.

I wouldn't care if a blog post showed up immediately .. 1 hour ... 1 day ... or 1 week for that matter. Once again ... time is being spent on something so picayune. If you want to do something that would improve this site instituting a total block feature as someone mentioned in another blog post would be a more worth while endeavor. AB No Bozos

This is most welcome news ! Post approval delays are a major obstacle to interactivity in real time. Blogs and groups allow members to reach out to a wide audience who are able to participate, IMO this is one of the great features of this site, and one of the main things that sets it apart from the competition. I think that extending the scheme to include standard members is indeed risky for the reasons you mention, but I think the risk is worthwhile as a great many of our great bloggers are standard members. I think you would find that blogland would be quick to report inappropriate posts, many bloggers really do care about this forum and would help in this respect if required I'm sure, perhaps reported posts can be reviewed as a priority and removed quickly if necessary. Moderators can police their own groups, and again members could report for review. Another equally large issue regarding post approval is the dreadful inconsistency of decisions made about what is denied. Seriously, the record of the review dept particularly with regard to images is unfathomable and ludicrous ! My concern with the new system is that images appear, but then still fall foul of the inconsistency of decisions when they are reviewed, perhaps this could also be addressed ? Whilst on the subject of images, there is a long standing problem with images taking 24 hours or more to appear (blogs/groups) by which time many posts are all but over, often never appearing at all, sometimes appearing then disappearing. Some members seem particularly prone to this for some reason. This cannot all be down to review process surely, must be buggy too ? I am confused by one thing, this welcome change in the review process was announced in the Live From Hookup.Date Naughty Affair Dating Group, and also blogged by me, on 29th January. At that time the information available did not differentiate between standard and premium members with regard to review, can you please confirm that plans have indeed changed in this regard ? Either way welcome, but certainly more welcome if standard members included I think.

Boss, Great Job. I posted my replies to some posts in my thread at the Community group and instantly approved. After the initial testing phase is complete I would like to see standard members have the same ability as long as it not misused by scammers or fakes to abuse others or sending links to join/visit other sites, etc. This will be an interesting test of this to be sure. luvpump replies on 2/25/2013 5:41 pm: Yes, I am becoming aware of the level of interest to extend member blocking from more than the profile and a few other places it exists. Do you know a blog thread that is discussing this? Do you know of the the #1 place people want blocking added to? Thanks! I mentioned the TOTAL BLOCK BUTTON in my post to your previous blog post. I also raised the suggestion in the site owned group Live From AFF this is the link to the thread Questions for 1/2 - 1/11 (page 3) where you can find a detailed explanation, and discussion among members and Aryana. Aryana was much in favour of this button as was her predecessor Ryan. Rather than repeat all here I hope you will check out the thread mentioned. Thanks for your consideration, and efforts to date on our behalf !

I think standards should get this also. As I am about to loose my gold ball and there is no more silver, I'm not sure about renewing because of all the problems this site has had. I would like this feature when I revert to a standard membership. I don't understand why they change a very good, workable messenger center to one that does not have the features the and harder to understand. Same goes with the new home page about to be forced on us. The old version works good. I don't want to know the activities of all the people around the world along with who liked a photo. By the way, it's a pleasure meet you and to be able to sound off to someone who may listen to the complaints of all members who actually keep this site going!

As there are few advantages for premium members as it is since the site keeps on giving out freebies to non-contibuting standards, immediate approval would be a nice perk to premium members. If this is extended to standards, it should be only to ones who earned popularity privileges, but what with the recent changes to the site, the rules should be revisited on how a standard can get the popularity privilege.

I think it up to the site decision regarding to how they want to run their business. Not surprise it be misuse by those that are scammers and fakes and trouble makers if standard had the equal ability.

I think standard members should get it also. We always have the scammers on this site no matter what you do or what you give them. Become a blog watcher sweet_vm

What is the reason for doing away with the "silver" membership?
| ||||||||||||||||
|
I think that all members, whether standard or paying should have their posts AND comments visible immediately.....PROVIDED that they have blogged for a certain length of time. There are some people who create blogs....post some completely absurd posts just for points and then vanish....they don't deserve the same privileges as those who contribute consistently to the blogging community here. ~~Anais Nin~~

I've already had a conversation with you regarding the silver memberships; my mention is simply to indicate interest once again. There are several things that I wish I knew more about; I'd like to be able to "pretty" up my blog instead of sticking to the default, but I actually don't have or don't take the time to figure out where I can find the information to do so. It would be nice for new people who aren't necessarily computer savvy in HTML or whatever code is being used to have a specific place that would point them in the right direction. I also have trouble with the concept that my blog post might say that there has been 100 views, but if I look at the visitors, I only see that 10 have visited. Are the numbers inflated? I've also had people say that they've read my post, but try as I might, I don't see their name - is there a way, or a place that they can stay invisible? I think it would be great, too, if there could be something in the "viewed" section of the blog that would indicate things like membership status (gold or silver), if you've friended them, or if they are currently online. And...I think it's a shame that I can't ask someone to be a friend simply because I don't carry a paid membership. It's sort of segregated feeling - that I'm not "worthy" to have friends! Thanks again, Andrew, for listening and working to implement changes!

Just noticed this feature working, and I really appreicated it!!!!! My thoughts re: standard members ... if they are active, long time members, they should get immediate approval, like silver and gold members. They have "earned" the community's respect. A somewhat related issue: comments on other's blogs. Apparently, from time to time, standard members' comments made on a silver or gold members blog postings can take days to appear. This imposes some restrictions on dynamic inter-action potentials.

it's about time i am so tired of things not getting approved right away or even within a few minutes (like 5) is acceptable most get jammed thru some imaginary screening process

This is a great move and should be rolled out to standard members as well. While recognising that Hookup.Date Naughty Affair Dating needs to approve pictures, uploading pictures can be very frustrating. There seems little consistency why certain photos are not allowed and others are.

I'm not sure if this is a side effect of this change, but I'm seeing a lot of blog posts show up as "member deleted post", even though the post is visible if I look at their entire blog instead of the individual post. [post 3097853] Come join the half-nekkid fun! Check out HNW Bloggers.

I'm not sure if this is a side effect of this change, but I'm seeing a lot of blog posts show up as "member deleted post", even though the post is visible if I look at their entire blog instead of the individual post. Also, I was going to 'repsond' to this comment, but the button didn't work, checked elsewhere and respond button not working.

I think gold members should get instant approval as I really don't like my posts going through a terribly long pending period. Also, sometimes images don't appear when the post goes live, and then I have to re-post and go through another pending process. Thoughts from the Garden...

I wish they would do something about the bling approval process. Sometimes it takes one or two days. As I write this. This bling I posted yesterday and it's still not approved.

Guess what happened?! I posted in my group this morning and it showed up IMMEDIATELY!!! No waiting for 4-5 hours? I almost had a mini O!!! THANK YOU FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS!!!!

Andrew replies on 2/26/2013 10:07 am: I've read your post and checked out what's going on regarding blocks. I will post a blog on it later this week. Basically to get feedback on making a block on any one feature blocks them from all the features that currently support blocks... with the ability to turn off individual feature blocks later in the block member page. That would be great ! I hope the block will work both ways, so if I block you I am invisible to you. I believe it is vital the 'Global Block Button' must be easily accessible and quick and simple to operate from anywhere on the site. For example, at present the block is almost impossible to operate by a popular cammer as the usernames scroll through so quickly, then have to be copied in on block page. Could it operate by - highlight username > block - from anywhere ? I wonder if the block could be extended to cover features that do not currently support blocks ? Absolute block all areas must be the best protocol (if possible) surely ?!
