Cinderella
Cinderella The gilded clock strikes Twelve, a repeating anodyne It's pounding with malice, Throbbing in her dry mouth, Candles - smoke the glass... Endless ricochet reflections. The ponds form frozen platforms Cracking mirror mainstay Distorting a thousand Mincing ghost pavilions And your sisters tell you ........."absolutely not" And your dancing partner says: "Stay, I will happily Massage the blisters on your readily swollen feet, my dear. Let's make a night of it..." And you consider pros and cons. "Cinderella dates back many years, even as far back as the Greek and Roman times. The Greeks begin with the story of Rhodopis. She is a servant that is forced to do the laundry in the river while the other servants are at some type of function. An eagle takes Rhodopis's sandal and drops it with the Pharaoh, who asks all the maiden's in the area to try it on. Rhodopis is the first one the sandal fits. They fall in love and are married. There are many other origins that appear at later dates such as the Chinese, Ye Xian, into the Philippines, Japan, and Germany, where the famous Brother's Grimm story comes from (the one where the stepsisters have their eyes pecked out by birds). Overall, according to Joanna Cole, an author of folklore collection, there have been over 325 known versions created from all over the world since 1825. All versions vary with details. For example, the French version suggests that one of the stepsisters was actually kind to Cinderella. The Brother's Grimm do not mention a fairy godmother at all; instead, the mother's dead spirit tends to control the events that unfold for Cinderella." (from wiki answers) |

Cinnamon is among other things now touted as being good for memory retention. They think it may help to stave off Dementia. Although you will have to eat or drink it. Bathing in it may not work for you, it could help those around you who catch your scent. That being only one idea that came to mind. MT

But what about Gus Gus..... Cinderelli???? Gus Gus is a cute lil bastard but he's not making the scene in my mind. We're rodent-free since 1995 - official slogan. And, I don't go by Cinderelli...we have to be careful with names that rhyme with "smelly." MT

Dear Dicey, Did you know cinnamon was the attar used by Queen of Sheba to captivate King Solomon? And also, cinnamon oil can rapidly create a state of euphoria. Based on this state, the action of the ingredients of cinnamon on the scent glands (or the salivary glands) in any given organism can, at least for the moment, increase the heart rate. This is why for centuries it has been used in England as general stimulant of the blood. And please note that my Snow White Rose Red poem was about blood, and that the use of the word cinnamon was meant to relate back to the above...but also that there are times I write about myself when I write a poem (even one based on some fancy book learnin') - and I have been using cinnamon and clove scents in my bath this winter. I presently have some lovely clove and ivy scented soap from Italy. My arse. Hm. Could be. MT Dice has felt the need to improve your boring blog???????
