Music Box (3/9/2011 UPDATE)

Hi MT, I played out Augustana 'til it burned out. Great choice of lyrics. Stephen

Fun to see PJ Harvey mentioned in your ongoing saga of music reviews. I have "Naked Cousin" on my running list. I like it. And as far as tunes for sex, whether in bed or other "wheres," I suppose for me it depends a lot on the shared mood of the sex. 90% of the time Marvin and Isaac are so stereotypically sexy (which I'm not knocking, lovers of getting it on - bow chica wow wow forever) that I'm more likely to share a laugh with a sex partner than get additionally heated. "Breathing light" is on the classic side, so similar boat, though I like it. "Fuck the pain away" is fun. Best wishes! "The greatest worth is self-mastery ..quality is seeking to serve others ..precept is continual awareness ..medicine is the emptiness of all ..action is not conforming with the world ..magic is transmuting passions ..wisdom is seeing deeply"

Silence really hit home. I'm cutting and pasting...and drafting, not ready to send yet! Stephen Thank you!

Hey sweetie. Did you like her? She's pretty bitchin' - also try the following: Augustana Avett Brothers The Black Keys P J Harvey and Isis wants me to close this she keeps trying to sit on the esc button on the keyboard...but I'll think of more and add. xo e/mt

Funny, I just got into these folks myself. I believe they did a random song in the recent a-team movie, which I enjoyed. "The greatest worth is self-mastery ..quality is seeking to serve others ..precept is continual awareness ..medicine is the emptiness of all ..action is not conforming with the world ..magic is transmuting passions ..wisdom is seeing deeply"

Cool selection... I didn't know a single one of them before checking these out. I usually listen to music all the time... but I have been in a silent mood lately. Thanks! Keep checking, I tend to update this post every few days. I can't promise you'll like all the music, but I can assure you most will be artists or songs unfamiliar to the majority of people out there. I tend to go all over the board, from punk, to classical, to , to jazz, to new age, to world, to alternative folk - you get the idea. Sometimes I riff off of a post of mine or a world event, sometimes I just showcase a musician I like. I'm very random. Please check out the rest of the blog too, in particular my poetry. That's the focus here. MT

That PJ Harvey song cracks me up. It's just so insulting, and she sounds so angry. When I first heard it I thought, "Good for you, tell that dick head off." Of course, I truly would not want to be the muse for such derisive prose. HrdHungGuy's blog. I don't interpret it the way you have been, clearly. My interpretation is more about a wrung out sponge that has been twisted till all the water is out, and has been therefore left dry ('you leave me dry.') Also, and I am sure you know this, there does come a point when a woman is dehydrated, if she is fucked well and long enough. Since I have seen P J live (front row) twice, I can say I consider her one of the most intelligent, sexual, as well as the most passionate and expressive musicians around. And this is based on myself having seen literally hundreds of musicians live. Of every genre. Classical, Jazz, Blues, folk, alt rock, techno, metal etc. So, to me it so follows, she would be the kind of woman who would NOT be with a man who was not equally passionate, sexual, and intelligent. Now, don't you think a highly passionate, sexual, and intelligent man would be OUTSTANDING in bed? I do (again based on experience.) Plus, I don't think she sounds angry I think she sounds like she's singing "the voice of" her orgasms and wanting more of them as she sings. Maybe she is so horny she is frustrated. I've certainly been *there.* Which other song 'cracks you up'? Odd response to anger and insult, btw. Which other was interpreted by you to be an insult to a man? Can't imagine Water or The Wind. Just can't. MT

Mariana, I have enjoyed reading your poetry. This couplet is especially touching: Three words that became hard to say I and love and you What you were then, I am today Look at the things I do You have given a lot of thought and put in significant hard work. As you know poetry is very difficult to write - Good poetry that is. To say thank you for your originality, I am sharing of of my favorite poems with you. More Than Friends Author: Famous Xavior Now I am to extend my hands hopefully you will give me yours Give me the chance to take you on a world wide tour And show you the things that you want to see Let us get to know each other in places beyond believeth And if you really love me like you say you really do Then there will be no hesitation, on my part, in making your dreams come true Because this feeling is so marvelous that I don't want it to end Today let's take the step of being more than just two friends. If I ever disappoint you in ways that I don't know of In advance accept my apology because I only do things out of love Some might try to tell lies but I swear to tell the truth Because I couldn't live on with my life thinking that I hurt you. Now do not be afraid or nervous about you and I Take a chance for a deep romance of everlasting paradise Hurry to say yes so that we may begin On a journey of love beyond the point of being friends. tonydetmi

Hi, I really like your Blog. I have a question for your readers: Men Do You Really Know What Women Want in Bed? Women Do You Agree? A recent study I found on line somewhere identified four things that women want in bed. It would be nice to hear from women if they agree. Equally, interesting would be to hear from men ‒ did you know this and do you please your woman this way. tonydetmi Men who are close to me do know what women want in bed, believe me. Good luck with this approach to Hookup.Date Naughty Affair Dating. MT *glare*

I was literally beckoned here by no more than the TMBG line "Though I respect that a lot, I'd be fired if that were my job." I once dreamt powerfully about that song... "Mimumum wage" comes to mind. Hiyaaaa! *crack* "The greatest worth is self-mastery ..quality is seeking to serve others ..precept is continual awareness ..medicine is the emptiness of all ..action is not conforming with the world ..magic is transmuting passions ..wisdom is seeing deeply"

Don't know that much about them, but I loved their cover of Istanbul (not Constantinople). And no, I don't do smack. Eeeeewwwwww. Just say no to (that) drug. I definitely have no interest in trying it. Never have. I was reminded of a short story I read a week ago about an English girl whose goal in life was to become a junkie, and she did just that: Search for Heroin My Love by LZ Hansen. It's not too long and it's on the web. With respect. No thanks. When you have been around that kind of drug usage, and had friends die or become addicts right before your eyes from heavy drug usage, tainted needles, or tainted drugs...yes three people I knew died where you could attribute their deaths to drug usage...you don't really necessarily want to read about it. Train Spotting had it pretty much spot-on. But I am so pleased you read my blog and it made you consider this connection. That's a good thing. ' Try TMBG, I believe you will love them too. They are quirky, surreal, brilliant, sarcastic, verbose, and utterly unique. Like you. MT
