Real Life

How are you, as bloggers, in real life? When I first started my blog, I did so on the premise that I was going to be myself and say whatever was on my mind. After reviewing my blog lately, I've come to realize that I was not necessarily accurate.

Although my blog is a damn near open book, and I have no problem writing anything and everything for the world to peruse and judge, I can't say that I'm the same way in real life.

Here in Atlanta, two years ago, we had a blogger meet. This brought bloggers in from all over the world. Many of the bloggers are no longer here, and I'm not really sure that the wonderful woman who organized it necessarily wants me to mention her, but let's just say that it was amazing. I'm a huge people watcher and it definitely gave me great opportunity to do so. Even, at the time, I was really high up on the popularity count - not necessarily for good reasons either - I found that I'm the same damn way I'm around a bunch of people that I don't know. It takes me a while to warm up to people. I'm not known for being the friendliest dude alive, but I think others think I'm a snob. I'm really not, I'm just, well, reserved.

Not only that, but we've had numerous blogger meets afterward of which I act the same way. Outside of bloggers, I do the same thing, but you would think as much as we read each other here, you would think I would be a lot more open... that's just not the case.

My question to you is how do you act in RL versus that of your blog? I could give you numerous other observations about my social ineptness, but I think you get the point. Plus, I'm sure others that know me will also chime in.

~AAS (trying to adjust my social lacking)

I think I am pretty close to the same in real life.....it would be too hard to keep up an alternate personality, and perhaps I am lazy! LOL Great question.

There isn't anything wrong with that... I'm just dirty both here and in RL.

Ya know that's healthy too!! I think it's great that you're at least getting it out there.

I do actually remember that night. It was new's birthday. It's very hard to believe it's been a year but it has. Ya, they were basically the only others that I really, really knew there other than new. I'm a snob.

I don't think that I'm different other than I just don't open up to others immediately. I still will admit the same things - such as swinging for example - if asked or if I just feel like it. Thanks for stopping by!

That's awesome. It's fun reading people and if they are the same way in RL, that's even more fun. Thanks for stopping by.

Well I wasn't sure... I just remember all the drama around the whole thing, etc. Ya, it is too early.

It was a wonderful meet and you are a helluva guy. I think my blog and me are pretty much the same but I could be wrong but I don't think so.

Ya, it really was a ton of fun. I think that we drank enough for three meets... or was that just me?? Actually I think it was just me as you had to drive us to the Place. Oops... Next time, I'll drive.

You saw the real me in Atlanta and nothing much has changed since then!! Now if I could just move Australia closer to America, I'd be a hell of a lot closer to some wonderful people (and Chick fillet'as or how ever you spell it!!!)

Ya, I can say that you are really open in RL. As far as your work, I'm not sure that's a bad thing that you're not that personal. For me, they do know that I'm on this site - I think - but nobody has a problem with it.

To me, being different and naughty is the only way to go!! I just love to shock people. I really could care less if I piss people off. Actually, that's why my company loves me.
