I couldn’t agree with you more my friend. Our country is far less safe with Trump than with any other president. With everything he has done what country is going to trust us? If he thinks Putin is such as good man then let him move to Russia, I think they would make good bed partners. Have you ever noticed that everyone he calls a good man is now in jail? How he’s never wrong everyone else is. His hatred for other races regardless of age. His bullying of others. How he’s told more than 13,435 lies in 993 (about a week or two old) days in office. Then you have the Republican party who use to be somewhat respectable that are all under his wing. How they said he wasn’t fit for office and now they are his puppets. The party is now a disgrace. I've had this argument with SO many people over the years. No, all the politicians are not useless and self serving. And Bush 41 wasn't all that. He was an entitled, privileged white boy who lied about Iran/Contra and got away with it. That doesn't make him evil, it just makes him wrong. Plenty of people go into politics with the idea of helping to make things better, They want to be a part of government so they can govern- keep an eye on what's going on and try to influence it in a positive direction. I figure that's what Bush 41 did too. When they get there the rose colored glasses often come off. They see how business is done and many lose hope and decide, fuck it, I can't change shit and I might as well get mine while I'm here. But not all of them. I don't agree with Ron Paul about much of anything but he kept his integrity. Bernie Sanders kept his integrity. So did Barney Frank. I don't always like what he says, but he's not on the take. William Milliken was a very good Republican governor of my state and he was a true statesman. I could go on with the list but my point is that these people aren't rotten to the core and born that way. They just have more opportunity to get corrupted in that atmosphere. I don't think they're all that different from you and I, other than perhaps being a lot more ambitious. You can give up if you want to, but I don't want to. Wow! Great post! I agree with you 100%. I mean really I don't care about what you write. That's your own business. Write about whatever you want to write. It's about freedom of expression. Well, at least it is for me. It's an opportunity to express my own thoughts and feelings about whatever I want to write about. And if you don't like it don't tell me I can't. You can tell me why you don't like it. But most of them don't do that. They just don't want to hear it in the first place. Which is very uncool.

Agree with your viewpoint. It surprises me how people want to moderate the thing that made this country great. We have lost the art of conversation, if we are not listening to what the others are saying it is called screaming. But I don't think all of us have lost the art of conversation or of politics. I think some have deliberately turned their backs on it. Reagan may have turned the tide of liberal progressivism in America, but Newt Gingrich made the debate toxic. I can't take seriously the calls to "build bridges" to the opposition when the opposition wants to control my wife's body, or when they march in Charlottesville with tiki torches ranting about Jews trying to replace them. I don't want to build bridges to racists or misogynists. The quarrel has gone from political squabble to one of morality and common decency. We have to be able to agree upon certain facts as objective truths to have government of the people, by the people and for the people. At this point there is NO common ground shared by both Democrats and Republicans. True conservatives have left the Republican party. I can only hope the GOP dies and a new party is formed by conscientious conservatives. The present party rejects facts and embraces a dystopian fantasy.
