You will be alright. Health industry has been at it for quite sometime. Knowing the issue ,you have to be deal with it as 'matter of fact'. No way around it, just be positive as you have displayed in your blog. I have not been in any surgery as of yet. But i know someone who went through 2 hip surgeries. She would not have gone through it, if it were not for support she had from family & friends. So i suppose 'grinning to bare it' is the way. Trust in the people who are 'fixing' you. Any doubts can be sorted by asking 'questions'...

You have to be positive..I know, easier said than done but remember you'll be in safe hands.

Ask them at the pre op for something to calm your nerves. Most docs will give you as much or as less info as you inquire. Pre op usually means they will do heart n blood n urine work to see if you are healthy enuff for surgery.

you may wanna re think having someone with you on the day of...maybe not either daughter but just a familiar face, in the sea of unfamiliar faces who will be poking and prodding you.

I wish you...calmness of spirit and wellness ~~

Best wishes for you. Usually things are not as bad as you anticipate. And you have cute little guy waiting for you.

I agree that a sensible, good friend would be helpful when you go in for your surgery. For one thing, they can tell you about the silly things you say as you come out of anesthesia.

I will pray for a good outcome for you.

You know where i stand- beside you
Please reconsider having someone go with you to the pre-op They will hear and remember things that you will "fade out" and have someone walk with you to the surgery til they give you the "woozy dont recall why I am here" drug. I hope you truly dont walk this alone. You will be a new person and you will want to celebrate with a friend. even in ICU XXXOOO
