Safety PSA - Fire Extinguisher Recall

Kidde Recalls Fire Extinguishers with Plastic Handles Due to Failure to Discharge and Nozzle Detachment. There are 40 million of these out there in the US and Canada.

Name of product: Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles. Made from 1973 to 2015.

Hazard: The fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.

Remedy: Replace. Search Kidde Recall 2017

Recall date: November 2, 2017

Kidde is replacing them. Uhmmm . . . the fire extinguishers, not your "nozzles".

 Mine may not be a working extinguisher. It may have the problems you mention in your post. Sheesh....might be time to replace it...just in case.
