I Wish It Could Be Love. A Poem

I wish it could be love
That he feels for me.
One that nearly suffocates
Him with need.
One that makes him
Want to see me happy.
One that swells his chest
When he thinks of me
And our experiences..
Those sensual interactions
As well as conversations.

I wish it could be love
That puts an added step
Puts added energy
In his day
With the production
Of endorphins.
His euphoria lifting him
Mundane chores
Barely a drain
As he contemplates
What we did
And our future rendezvous
He wants to make happen.

Is it only me
That thinks this way?
Is it only me
That has love
On the brain?
On any given day
A reverie
Makes life much more pleasant
And bearable.
Love is not a drug
That you can buy.
But if it were like a fragrance
He could spray
I hope he would choose
The one with my name.
