You Can Pick Your Friends and You Can Pick Your Nose....
You Can Pick Your Friends and You Can Pick Your Nose.... I received a friend request last week from a couple in New Zealand. Now normally, if I receive a friend request, I accept it. As long as it's a woman or occasionally a couple, but NOT dudes. I'm not gonna have a bunch of dudes in my "friends" group, I'm not about give my competition any free advertising space on my profile page, besides, more than 1 woman has told it gives the wrong "impression", if you know what I mean. I used have a bare butt pic, since I've had compliments on my ass from women, but again, I was told "it's sending the wrong message. Butt, enough about my butt, back to this request... I get this friend request. I thought it was odd, I've never seen them before, no blog comments to me or from me, I've never received a "view" or a "flirt" from them, just an out of the blue friend request. So, I went to their profile, nearly 20,000 friends. This has the feel of those friend requests that you get on Faceplace from those teenage girls and you go to their profile and see they have several thousand friends. I think they're collectors competing with other teens to see who can get the most friends. Well, I declined it, which is something I've never done. It just seemed off. After that, I went to my profile and had a look at my current friends. I had about 20. Most sent requests, I accepted, and that was it. No further contact through messages OR blogs, so I had to ask myself, was there any point? Was I a small time collector? With that I decided it was time to clean house. I trimmed my "friends" list down to 8 by using a simple test. All these friends had to have 1 of the following qualifications: 1- someone I've shared messages with. or 2-someone I've met in the blogs or 3-someone that gives me a warm feeling in my crotch. Actually, they all give me that! Are you a friend collector? How many friends do you have? |

That feature is turned off for my profile. I used to get friend requests from people I'd never had any interaction with and since I'm not interested in collecting "friends", I turned it off.

I had no friends by choice up until 2 months ago when I posted the friends only lingerie pic post. A few of my readers sent me a request.... But I discovered those posts are now a giant pain in the ass. A lot has changed since 2009 when I had my very first blog.

Nope not a ‘friend collector’. I routinely decline unsolicited friend requests. I shake my head when I see someone has hundreds if not thousands of ‘friends’. We all need to define for ourselves what a ‘friend’ on here means.

I have a dozen or so friends, I know something about each.. IE a friend, not just a number, I see these people with thousands of friends, most likely just number collectors, it gives them an added advantage in some of the actives here on these sites, each friend gets a notice of activity from them .. So if they post a photo, Wa-La thousands of people know about it very quick.. Stop by at lonlyforlove2 also see Lunch with Lonly , we get snow tomorrow Check my blog on New Community, "A photo of my big Pecker" also, " My Sunday afternoon with the kids'

I looked at my friends list a few weeks ago and was sad to see quite a few bloggers who no longer post here. Many of my blogger friends are friends on facebook and I tend to interact more there than here lol!

well I did a blog on that it was the difference between friends and acquaintances...It actually was determined that friends are considered thise who you meet face to face and have chats with or coffee etc..Acquaintances are those people who we chat with online and through media sources ...I thought i was being kind in accepting those requests but then i came to the conclusion that these were collectors of people on their Profile as " friend" i also realized that when i attempted to chat the empty air gave me a chill ...i cleared house pretty quick ! dont get me wrong i do chat with about 10 and find it equally pleasant when things are learned ..as for close Naw it aint happening!

14 friends ... 13 fellow bloggers and the guy that introduced me to the site. I don't show the friends on my profile cuz it's nobody's business who my friends are. Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

btw - 20 would not be considered in the 'collection' category by most. Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

10 friends 1 guy who is a blogger others are/were bloggers. The whole online friend thing seems a bit odd to me because most are really acquaintances. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Ahhhh, McMc, one of my favourite topics - crusty bogeys (think yoUSes call 'em logies?? ) The quality of the nasal product all depends on the activity, and the same can be said for one's a.f.f 'Friends'....... I've never really understood that feature because even if you're someone's 'Friend', if you're a standard member all you can do is read 'friends only' blog posts, (which I don't really agree with in the first place, but that's another discussion...) You can't even see their photos or otherwise interact with the person. And those folks who collect friends by the tens of thousands, well that's a bit like collecting crusty bogeys, is it not??

Ooops I guess according to BJ I'm a friend collector - I think I have about 70. My area had a very active chat room scene once upon a time. We would have occasional meet and greets where everyone would get together at a bar to meet face to face. I suppose I could clean house since I'm no longer interacting with most of those people, but it seems harmless. I have a number of blogfriends in the mix, as well. The main purpose at this point, is that I have private photo albums and the friends are those who I trust to see face pictures.
