I sit all alone in my makeshift dressing room, nothing special but at least it's mine.
I have seen others come and go during my years performing at this hole in the wall.Had my share of many customers, some still ask for me by name. I pretend to play my role here no matter what. Just put on my makeup and keep smiling through all the pain and sadness or whatever gets you through the long lonely nights here. Putting on my lipstick so very perfectly, I can do it with my eyes shut or without a mirror, it;s been that long and I am so very used to it. At least they will keep me company for the night and never have to worry about being alone. Keeping my chin up and keep on smiling. Give them what they pay me for. Sometimes I am lucky if they slip me extra bills into my garter belt under my skirt. Sore feet and blisters from the high heels that I wear no longer hurt me. My skin and I have toughened up over the many years.Pick out your favorite song and I will dance for you all night long. Pressing my body tight into yours while you grind hard against me. Hardened from all these years I don't seem to show any true emotion anymore, it is all an act for me. Going through the motions, I will even let you kiss me. Getting lost in the music playing, swaying back and forth together..until we meet again..I will always be your private dancer...
