An added bonus! Nope its probably not what you are thinking...unless you are local and not a scammer or fake ..lol This is just an added post to the Scammer one i posted and its a list i have compiled to let people know what to look for when someone messages and you think they may not be real or getting into scam mode. Feel free to add whatever you wish and maybe if we can help just one person from going through the agony of time wasting , fake ass , no good for nothing scammers . First thing most of them say is : Hello pretty, I was going through your profile and i like what i see..I must say ...etc etc... I keep a real close eye on their profile because they put their eye color as black...there is no such thing as eye color black...Dark brown may be misconstrued as black but i dont believe that they even know that there is no such thing They also play 20 questions and avoid at all costs your questions...some are : Do you work and what is your work? or if you are retired from work , what did you do before you retired? Do you own your place or rent? Do you have and do they live with you or do you live alone? How long have you been on this date site and what are your experiences here? Can we text away from this site give me your number , or they give you an email or cell number right away...saying they are not on the site much or its their last day .. They most generally list their job as : engineer, contractor , Military or Supervise multi million dollar contracts Internationally ... They most generally have young no matter what their age ..always the Mother died in childbirth or in a car wreck and his parents are dead and his or are ;living with an older Aunt , who is sickly and not able to get around much. They talk about falling in love with you and ask you how much you trust in love at first sight...trust is the major word for them because thats what they want you to believe.... I am sure there is way too much more i am missing but you get the idea ...all i am saying is the way to avoid them is to play it cool...dont fall for all that because youi be the one digging the biggest hole because they dont have anything to lose ..... |

It probably is tougher on women than men at this but don't think that women don't "scam" as well. I have been hit with check out my website, send me tips, blah, blah, etc. Then you have the ones that don't match their pics. Like you say, be careful, pay attention and weed through the chaff.

lol yes i seen that and i also seen it on here as well just today black eyes and black hair ..nice looking felloe if its his pic ..but hes had the same vids and pic for months i remember asking him to meet me as i wanted to see the black eyes ...he ignored me totally and hes only an hour away lol yeah right ! wink!

Things I've noticed that scammers have tried: 1. They're in the military, or an engineer, or in charge of/contracts for some high-end company. **Oh yeah, sure you are... Do your own research with these ones, especially ones who claim they're in the military; they are giving good soldiers who risk their lives every day a bad name. These ones especially make me sick to no end.**  2. Hair color/eye color listed very differently than posted picture, usually both listed as "black" when you can clearly see this "guy/gal" is a flaming redhead with light blue eyes... **Ask for clarification. They may have dyed their hair and are trying out colored contacts, and are posting a somewhat older pic, but it never hurts to ask.** 3. Has no clue on how to spell simple words, let along use proper grammar and/or syntax. I'm no grammar expert, but I can spot enough mistakes to raise questions. **Are they using Google translate? Does the message give you the feeling that it's not your friend here. Start asking simple, but very specific questions.** 4. Will wait you out in conversation, both in emails online and in text (if enough trust has been gained for that here), however long or short it takes, until the right moment happens when you drop your guard. **Never drop your guard. A scammer will show their true colors eventually.** 5. If you mention you "have to go to the store for whatever", they will most likely drop the iTunes Gift Card scam on you. **DO NOT FALL FOR IT. They are hoping that they've gained enough trust at this point for you to take pity, slip up and use your credit or debit card for this favor. They are looking for account info.** 6. if they don't use the iTunes Gift Card scam, they most likely will use the "can you hold X amount of money for me until I come home/can collect it? I *need it to finish my job, then we can be together/so we can be together*. **Again, DO NOT FALL FOR IT. They are attempting to get your more personal account info, your savings/retirement, etc.** 7. If you're a woman, they will begin the intro usually with "hello pretty'/you are beautiful/hello beautiful". Sometimes not beginning in capital letters, like the example given above. If you're a man, pretty sure something similar is said from *a supposed female* contact. **Everyone can fall for flattery, but if the flattery is coming on too thick, isn't believable, doesn't seem real, and raises concern in you, trust your instincts and ask questions. Again, never drop your guard. A scammer will show their true colors eventually.** 8. Will ask if you're married/have kids. This one can be tricky, as there's nothing wrong with this question, but they most often will divulge that they are widowed/single parent with teenage child (boy or girl), and wife died from cancer/killed in car wreck, etc. **They are attempting to appeal to your empathy in order to gain trust. Just another worm on the hook for you to bite.** 9. Will ask you to go to their website to "verify that you're real". This hasn't happened to me, but I've read about it enough her and other places to know that it does happen. I don't have any advice on this here, so maybe others (men and maybe women?) that this has happened to can add their experiences. Ten (cuz the site like to eat numbers  ). Scammers have now infiltrated onto other online media, such as the Book of Faces. Yeah, that site has now been added to their list(s). Spoofing of people's profiles mainly, which is that they take your info, create another account, may or may not use your very same profile pic, and try to spam everyone in your friends and family lists with whatever. It has happened to me there once, and I immediately reported the spoofed account, changed my passwords, and upped my security settings. No place is sacred anymore, sadly...  Trust your instincts. Keep records of every email and/or text for reference, in case they tell you something in the future that makes you think "Wait a minute, didn't they tell me something different not too long ago?" If it sounds too good to be true, chances are that it is. There are some good and true people out there, and it takes patience and a little investigative work to find them. Great post, well done! One way to spot fake profiles is to run a Google Image Search on the profile pictures, see my blog post "Fake or Fraudulent profiles". It's amusing to find the real owners of the photos! Good luck, AngloSwiss_ch
