The lunar eclipse was this evening and I had the good fortune of watching it with my 13 year old & his telescope. I hope y'all had an opportunity to see the beautiful sights the World has to offer us....

Well, I've discovered another reason to be annoyed about the crappy weather; my are all stuck in the house and are NOT getting along. I miss the days when they were young. If they were cranky, I could put them down for a nap and have a few hours of peace and quiet.... Kinda hard to tell a 20 year old, a 19 year old & a 13 year old to take naps but man would I like to. Probably doesn't help that I have a LOVELY headache to keep me company but jeez guys.... Just stop annoying each other

As I was taking #3 to school this AM, I heard the weather forcast for the weekend and am completley appalled....6-13 inches of snow Sunday into Monday. Jesus, Mary & Joseph...ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!! I'm sick of the cold, the snow and winter, in general. So far, we've had (here in Bumbfuzzle) about 75 inches of snow. Last year at this time we had 35 inches... STOP IT!!!!!

One of my least favorite "holidys" is coming up in a few days. I feel that Valentine's Day & Sweetest Day (in October) are positively innane and only serve to create problems between couples. As an example, one part of the couple is a total romantic and has HUGE expectations for said "holidays"; the other part of the couple is not a romantic and has few or no expectations for the "holiday". The gap in expectations can be a big disappointment to one part of the couple and a big set of expectations for the other part of the couple.
Personally, I feel that I should let my HoneyBunny know, each and every day, that I love him and want to continue to build a relationship with him, not just on 2/14 or 10/??? (whatever the date is).
I think people who pin all of their hopes and dreams on the "day" are missing opportunities to show that person every day that they are cared for, cherished and loved.
That said, I do enjoy those cutsey, romantic gestures and am fully anticipating a very well chosen, heartfelt card....And that's just perfect for me....

There are few things that prompt me to post things that may be interpreted as politically slanted. That said, I was channel surfing and came upon the movie Blackahwk Down. Every time I see this movie, it makes me stop to consider those who have served and do serve in the United States Armed Forces...The integrity, the dedication, the inspiration, the drive.... My ex was a Marine for 13 years before he gor out of Recon and had this framed piece of art hanging above his dresser in our bedroom. It began, he told me, during the Vietnam Conflict.... It shows a bunker with guns and a jeep and the saying goes " For those who fight for it, freedom has a special flavor the protected will never know".
Having never served, I can only pretend to imagine the trials, difficulties and danger those who did serve endured. I'll not voice an opinion as to what my position on our troops in the middle East is.....
I just know that there are people willing to risk their lives to ensure I have the freedoms I do and for that, I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL!!!

Go to bed last night with a shovelled sidewalk and driveway only to wake up to find the city plows came through and piled about 2 feet by 3 feet of crusty, heavy crap at the end of the driveway. I understand the need to plow the streets but for the love of God, don't plow all of that shit to the end of each and every driveway...Or if ya do, scoop it back out. I'd gander a guess that none of the street crew, city council members, mayor , police chief or fire chief have to dig all of that crap outta the end of their driveway so WHY do the rest of us poor suckers have to do it???

I must say, after all of my bitching yesterday, I look outside and see the beauty of this snowfall and smile..... are home from school, my boss called me yesterday to tell me to cancel my appointments for today and work from home, if needed. So, my 13 year old & I are snuggled up on the couch watching DVD's and enjoying the pretty snow....My "baby" even went out and shovelled for a bit...Sweet , huh?

I'm shaking my head at the forcast for this afternoon/evening & tomorrow. Between 6-12 inches of new snow with blowing....I'VE HAD JUST ABOUT ENOUGH, THANKS!!!! I'm sick to death of driving in crappy weather conditions, sick to death of shovelling, sick to death of scraping my car windows.....And the Groundhog says SIX more weeks of this crap...Yippe, fucking Skippy....

I was just hanging out, minding my own business yesterday when I suddenly decided to make a side trip to Sam's Club in Waukesha for some much needed "bulk" supplies. Well, I made a few bulk purchases, decided I'd finally get a printer for my computer downstairs and a new crock pot. The crock pot I had was about 25 years old, not terribly large and the glass lid had a huge chip in it. Every time I went to grab the crokck pot, I'd cut my hand on the lid (Yes, I can be rather blonde some days). Then my 13 year old & I stopped at Best Buy so I could check out automobile GPS units. Since I drive all over Hell and back for work, I thought I'd check out the GPS units so I don't continue trying to committ suicide with my car by reading the Mapquest directions I usually print off. SO, they had one that I liked & had researched on sale, so I picked that up, too....The 13 year old then grabs my hand & directs me to the PlayStation3 and asks if "PLEASE, MOM, could that be ALL of our birthday presents this year?" Well, it WAS on sale so....Okey Dokey....Only my #1 turns 21 this year so I'm thinking he'll get some extra stuff for his birthday and I'm always shopping through out the year for stuff so the other boys'll get stuff, too...I am SUCH a sucker....
Woke up this AM with a wicked headache after a night filled with very ODD dreams including me having a baby (NOT GONNA HAPPEN) that my HoneyBunny & I named Michael Robert (not names I'd ever name a of mine for various reasons) and something about a summer family vacation where we were all having a meeting in a boat house....And before anyone asks, NO, I WAS NOT drinking last night.....

You wake up with headaches, a dry throat, feeling not well rested and tired all of the time" And I thought...Well, yeah, so.....Then he says "That's beacuse you stop breathing on average of 92 times an hour for 25 seconds and breathe to shallowly 80 times an hour. That means you are getting less than 30 minutes of sleep an hour". Hmmmm, maybe that's why I feel tired all of the time, never feel rested and am dragging most of the day.... SO, the Dr sent an order to a home health provider and they have ordered and will be coming out to set up a CPAP machine for me.....My HoneyBunny is thrilled because he's been worried I'll croak in my sleep ala Reggie White.....

So, I'm sitting at home this afternoon, trying to get my reports done for work & the phone rings. My answers and it's this girl.... Kind of a friend of my older ... She's 24, never married, has 4 (yes, count them FOUR!!!!) with 4 different guys: 6 months, 3 years, 6 years & 9 years of age..... The 3 year old is my all time favorite kidlet in this area...She's bright, funny, sweet, kind and caring. She's also the 3 year old who had a VERY bad experience with her Dad a few weeks ago in that he spanked her so severely that he left bruises up and down her tush. The maternal unit did have the presence of mind to report it to the police and the guy has been arrested & charged with abuse.
In any case, I'm doing my reports & the is talking on the phone, I'm not really paying attention until he asked if I'd mind if the "Princess" came & spent the night since it's he Mommy's birthday & the Mommy wants to go out with friends. I'm neither a bitch (all of you who know differently, HUSH!) nor a prude but, c'mon.....They ARE your , I have stuff to do and if I say No, I'll feel guilty since you'll probably yell at the as if it's their fault you couldn't go out....SO, I say "Sure, I'll take the Princess, when will you drop her off?" Well, that's a problem since the Mom got dropped off where she is and needs me to pick the Princess up..... OY...So, pick the Princess up and discover she has no Pull-ups, no socks, no jammies and REALLY needs a bath...SO, we make a stop at the Dollar Store & get pull ups, socks & slippers, some jammies, a coloring book with markers, a ball, some gum, a pretty purple bow and some baby shampoo so the kidlet can bathe....
I KNOW my bitch sounds petty but I really dislike having my good nature abused by someone who doesn't appreciate it and will NEVER say Thank You....Best I'll get is a hug from the Princess and an "I love you Gramma Linda" when I drop her off tomorrow.....
