A different kind of double standard

I have been in a chat room on this site, not a regular in there just a visitor. I have met a few nice people, and chatted with them. I have even chatted with some of them off site on the popular messenger service.
One in particular who I chatted with, and found attractive, I saw out one night dancing a one of the bars that I patrol. I was working that night. I was almost sure it was this woman, but couldn't be quite sure. She was with a guy and I didn't approach her.
I saw her in chat again a few days later, and mentioned it to her. She told me that it was indeed her, and that the guy in question was only a friend. She went on to say she wished that I had spoke to her, and let her know who I was, she was hoping to meet me someday.
The conversation went well, and we were flirting big time. The subject of my marital status came up, and when I explained that I am married she flipped out on me. I explained that it is clearly stated in my profile my status, and she told me that she never read it. She went on to be rather rude to me, and needless to say hasn't "spoken" to me again.
I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to get involved with a married person, but don't feel it is necessary to sit in judgment of those married people looking for an outlet.
One of the biggest complaints I read on here from women is that men don't read profiles. Sounds like a double standard to me!!....lol

What does Memorial Day mean to you.....A day late

I was holding the American Flag yesterday for a Memorial Day salute. The guest speaker, a Vietnam vet, asked the question....what does Memorial Day mean to you. He explained what he thought it meant to some people, like the first big weekend to start the Summer, or to who are just happy to be off of school. He said for him it was about friends that he had lost in battle, and honoring their memories.
It really helps to put things in perspective in that manner. People are putting their lives on the line for us on a daily basis and we need to appreciate them. I want to say a huge Thank You to all the Veteran's!!!
There is a saying I have read in some emails, and on a few bumper stickers. It says.....if you can read this thank a teacher, if you can read it in english, thank a soldier!! I love that!!!

What a week

I just worked a 93 hour week. It was totally draining on the body, and mind. I worked overtime and a side job over the weekend that worked me like a dog. It will all be worth it when the checks roll in, but I am certainly feeling it today!!!
I hope that your Memorial Day weekend was wonderful!!!

Even though I visit this site almost every to every other day. I am not always inspired to write when I am here. I have been driving and thought (Hey that would make a good blog post) and then forget what the hell I was thinking about. That is what happens when you have so much on your mind I guess.....lol
I enjoy the freedom to not have to blog as much as the freedom to write whatever I want....such a cop out. I do enjoy all the friends that I have made here, and have read some of the most wonderful writing on this site. Thanks for all that hang in with me and check up on me from time to time. You are the best!!!

Long Weekend!

I worked the whole weekend away. I was in Fri. night, left my house at 9 P.M. and didn't return home until Sun. morning at 8 A.M. It was the end of a very long weekend of work. I slept last night like a bear hibernating, and I am getting tired here as I type. Hope that all of your weekends were filled with loads more fun than I had!!!

It has been three years since you left us, and a day doesn't go by that you are not in my thoughts. I know that you are watching over me, and I thank you my brother!!
You are dearly missed!!! RIP to my baby brother who passed three years ago today at the age of 21.
