All these many years of driving, no real mishaps, a scrape here and there on my vehicles, but today going into ILM to SECUnion, pulled out into a turn lane of traffic and a guy swapped lanes and slammed right into me. Left front fender, light and bumper all gone. Of course these newer cars are made of plastic and it doesn't take much of a bump to destroy them. Oh well, I'll cry and finally get over it. A friend who does body work came and got it to get parts to put it back together again.
See the tears streaming down!!!!!!!! Worst part it will hit my pocket book heavy!

Need Some Relief in Moving Some of these Unuseful Catches!!!

So many sharks abound off our NC coast. Yet another person (an older gent) bit today, the 7th in a very short while.
There is something close in to shore attracting them, and not all the people's fault. When the fishermen were fishing for them using chum for bait, that attracted them closer to shore.
My (who is an adult) loves surfing, and even though I warn him to never go out by himself, he does anyway sometimes and comes back telling me he got into some sharks and if they got to close, he merely tapped them on the nose and they moved on out of the way. Risky, but you can't; tell young people to use caution at all times when there is a chance for harm!
Weather here has been good for several days, but supposed to get some more of those heavy rain storms tomorrow.
All you bloggers have a safe and Great 4th of July this weekend. Don't guess I'll be going to the beach this weekend as I got a call with an invitation for a cookout on Sat. pm. So all of you enjoy whatever it is you, your family and friends have scheduled for the 4th!!!!!

Yesterday, heat index 110, multiple heavy thunder, lightning and 4" of rain on top my house here in the country. Great that we got some rain, but we didn't ask for that much all at once. Am sure there is flooding in many of these low lying areas here near the River. Supposed to get more rain today and Sunday, and cooler temps for four or five days.
All Bloggers have a great weekend.
 None of these rainbows spotted lately, but the water spouts abound.

OH, Happy Days

So much rain here all year, the shrubbery around my house has
taken over like a jungle, and now it is too hot for me to deal with it.
One of my good neighbors found a young man who does some
landscape work, and brought him over. He is doing a good job clearing
things out and shaping up. Very reasonable I might say also. About done
across the front of the house and the two large flower beds, side and back our not going to be so bad.
Will help with the insects, and especially the spiders my exterminator has been
tackling for months. May have to drench the outside with insecticides to get rid of
it all. But whatever it takes. Usually white vinegar diluted sprayed on the bushes will
help keep them all at a lower level, but not so since it got really hot.
I'd welcome any other solutions any of you have found to deal with these tiny
spiders you can't even see, just get covered in their tiny-fine webs.

 Have tons of these of all colors in my yard this year and they are
a beautiful sight. People stop by the street all the time to look at them and the whimsical benches and yard décor.

Was so hot yesterday, however today is a wee-bit cooler. However
we are having bad pop-up storms. One about an hour ago knocked
off the power. Rain didn't last long, but the thunder and lightning was
rough. Supposed to get more of the same later this afternoon.
Hoping none of you Bloggers for any of the really rough stuff with hail and tornadic winds yesterday.

So hot here for this time of year, 97 inside my car at 1PM today in the Lowe's
parking lot when I stopped for several purchases.
Understand it will be hotter tomorrow.
How about your area? Can almost get a suntan without going outside in that kind of heat.

Went to a great cookout for a young lady (22) and her grandfather this
afternoon.
Great food, good fellowship. Will have probably 2 more celebrations this month
as there are others to celebrate.

Back home and trying to get over those 2 falls a week or so ago. Have gotten into the new project that has to be at least partially complete and printed for distribution at a 2-family reunion this next Sunday.
Has been a real chore collecting and retrieving images of century old houses and the people who lived there and their descendents. Have bombed out in come instances.
Interesting to hear about happenings from the by gone days from our older relatives who are still living.
All have a good weekend, as I have to get back to the task of finishing up the text on information that's been furnished to me so far.

No Construction Doings for Few Days

Too bad for me, fell again last week, and my strongly suggested getting out of the "hazard area" and let some other things besides me fall into place. With no permission to go outside except sit on the deck, and no permission to access the laundry room, I might as well come on home, so here it sit.
Am working on a brief 'booklet' for a family reunion next week with pics of old houses and people from back when they lived in those old antique farm houses and comments family members are sharing about times back then. Got to get to work on it again tomorrow and Monday and ready to do a rough print for the next Sunday. Wish me luck, as things have not gone as rapidly as would have liked due to the fall and
lack of family and neighbors to cooperate fully.

and will not let me reply to all e-mails received.
Probably more problems that I just haven't run into yet.

Rough weather here this weekend, strong winds and heavy rain bands
coming on shore from this Storm Ana off the coast.
Hope it clears up before many more days. Wishing for all others they are not having horrible weather so they can enjoy Mother's Day!!!!!

Big Family Blast !!!

Came home for a huge family gathering on Saturday, about 100+ people attending. More food than anyone could have thought, way too much Eastern N.C. Bar B Q
(vinegar based sauce), homemade covered dishes of everything imaginable, and desserts. My contribution was a pot of 5lbs of country style cooked small butterbeans with lots of small country ham bits cooked in them. 
Various groups formed their individual signing groups., some individuals performed as well. Good Easter weekend bash.
Hope all others have had a great weekend.
